Peace – Second Night

We can let our light shine through peace. Peace is an inner quietness of the heart, mind, and soul that comes from our relationship with God. When we learn to trust God and keep our thoughts on Him we are filled with perfect peace.

Isaiah 26:3  NKJV     “You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.”

God desires for us to seek peace with Him and with others.

Psalm 34:14  NKJV     “Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.”

Knowing that our sins have been forgiven through Jesus is the first step to experiencing God’s peace. We cannot experience the peace of God until we experience peace with God. To His believers, Jesus promises a very special peace.

John 14:27  NKJV     “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”

Father,

We thank-you for this time of the year when we can come together to remember all that You have done. We give You thanks for the inner quietness of our hearts, minds, and souls that comes from our relationship with You. By the power of the Holy Spirit may we trust You, O Lord,  and keep our thoughts on You. Fill us with Your perfect peace. May we seek to walk in peace with You and others everyday of our lives, and may we refrain from evil. Thank-you that we have peace through Jesus which keeps us from being trouble or afraid.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
