Kindness – Fourth Night

We can let our light shine through kindness. Kindness is the ability to behave friendly, and pleasant, the practice of being sympathetic and compassionate, and showing consideration and caring. Kindness is also treating others with love and respect. Kindness is a wonderful  characteristic of God.

Titus 3:4  NKJV     “But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared”

Luke 6:35-36  NKJV     “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.”

If our desire is to be like Jesus we must show kindness to others. The Bible tells us to be kind, caring, and forgiving to others, just like He is to us.

Ephesians 4:32  NKJV     “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.”

Father,    We thank-you for this time of the year when we can come together to remember all that You have done. We give You thanks for Your lovingkindness and the compassion that You have shown us. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may we behave friendly to and pleasant toward others. May we be sympathetic and compassionate, and show consideration and care. Cause us to treat others with love and respect, showing kindness in everything that we do. Thank-you for the forgiveness and mercy that You have given to us. May we be quick to show forgiveness and mercy to others.                                           In Jesus’ name, Amen.
