Why Read The Bible

At the end of the year many people make a New Year’s resolution. Instead of a New Year’s resolution I would like to challenge you with reading the entire Bible this year.

In the times that we live in it is so important that people, including children, know what the Bible says. Too many times people rely on someone else to tell them what God says. This was never the way God intended it to be. God loves each one of us so much and He desires an intimate and personal relationship with us. The Bible contains history, instructions, and encouragement. But most of all, it is a love letter written to each one of us.

John 14:15  NKJV     “If you love Me, keep My commandments”

Jesus tells us in John 14:15 that if we love Him we will obey His commandments. For this reason it is very important for us to read God’s Word and hide it in our hearts.

Psalm 119:11  NKJV     “Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.”
