Review and Reflections

1. Read Leviticus 15:1-32. These verses describe ___________________ from discharges.

What does uncleanness mean in these verses?

2. Read Leviticus 16:1-28. The verses describe the ___________ of _______________________.

Why did Aaron‘s two sons die?

What does profane or irreverent mean?

Could Aaron, the high priest, enter into the Most Holy Place anytime he wanted?

On the Day of Atonement Aaron was to go into the Most Holy Place and do what?

What does atonement mean?

What does scapegoat mean?

3. Read Mark 7:1-8. What did the Pharisees and scribes find fault with?

Why were they offended with this?

When questioned by the Pharisees and scribes about why the disciples ate bread with unwashed hands, what was Jesus’ response?

What does, “This people honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me” mean to you?

What does, “in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men” mean to you?

What does, “laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men“ mean to you?

4. Read Mark 7:9-13. God commanded the people to ___________ their father and mother. This honor included taking care of them when they were old and unable to do so for themselves. However, the tradition of man (in his greed) was to give (actually loan) the temple the portion that would have been used to take care of their parents. By doing this they were no longer able to help their father or mother.

This displeased God. To Him _______________________ has always been better then sacrifices.

5. Mark 7:14-23. What we eat does not _________ us, but the things that come out of our mouths do.

Our mouths speak what is in our _______________.

Out of the heart of men proceeds evil __________________, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, ___________, and foolishness.

6. Read Proverbs 10:13-14. Wise people store up ____________________.

Dear Father,

That You that when I repent, You choose not to remember my sins and iniquities. You never withhold Your tender mercies from me. Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me. Even when I bring trouble on myself, You are with me and will not allow me to overtaken. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to remember that You are my deliverer and my help. And may I always magnify You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
