April 16 – Review and Reflections

Today’s Bible Reading

Joshua 13:1-14:15

Luke 18:1-17

Psalm 85:1-13

Proverbs 13:7-8

Review and Reflections

1. Read Joshua 13:1-14:15.  The children of Israel did not drive out the Geshurites or the __________________.

What tribe was not given an inheritance because the Lord God of Israel was their inheritance?

How old was Caleb when Moses sent him to spy out the land?

How old was Caleb when he was given the land promised to him?

How do you feel when you have to wait a long time for a promise from God to come to pass?

2. Read Luke 18:1-8. Why did the unjust judge finally answer the widows request?

Through these verses we can see that praying repeatedly does not mean that you lack _______________.

3. Read Luke 18:9-14. The Pharisee “prayer” was filled with bragging and pride, not humility. How would you describe the tax collector’s prayer?

What does humility mean?

Which man pleased God?

Jesus said, “for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” What does this mean?

4. Read Luke 18:15-17. What was Jesus’ attitude toward children?

5. Read Proverbs 13:7-8. How can a person make themselves rich and yet be poor?

Dear Father,

Thank-you that You have forgiven Your children. Through Jesus our sins are not just covered, they are washed away. You restore us and revive us. You show us Your mercy and grant us Your salvation. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help us to hear You clearly. May we stay on Your path and not turn  to folly.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
