Review and Reflections

1. Read 2 Samuel 17:1-29  Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Now let me choose twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue _________________ tonight.

What did Hushai say to Absalom concerning his plan?

Why were Absalom’s servants looking for Ahimaaz and Jonathan?”

When  Ahithophel saw that his advice was not followed what did he do?

2. Read John 19:23-27. What did the soldiers do with Jesus’ clothes?
When Jesus saw His mother standing by the cross, what did He say to her concerning John?

What did Jesus say to John concerning Mary?

3. Read John 19:28-37. Jesus said, “It is finished!” What did He mean?

4. Read John 19:38-42. Who was given permission to take the body of Jesus?

What did they do with Jesus‘ body?

5. Read Proverbs 16:12-13. God care about the words that we speak. Why?

Dear Father,

Your testimonies are wonderful and Your Words give light. Direct my steps by Your word, and let no iniquity have dominion over me. Redeem me from the oppression of man, that I may keep Your precepts. Make Your face shine upon me and teach me Your statutes. Righteous are You, O Lord, and upright are Your judgments. Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness and Your law is truth. When trouble and anguish try to overtake me, Your Word is there to deliver me. By the power of the Holy Spirit, may my heart long to obey Your commandments. Fill me with a zeal for more of You and for more of Your Word. Give me understanding, that I may live in the fullness of what You have for me. May I meditate on Your Word and on Your lovingkindness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
