Review and Reflections

1. Read 1 Kings 2:1-12. Some of David’s last words (instructions) to Solomon were…

* Keep the charge of the Lord your God: to ____________ in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commandments, His judgments, and His testimonies.

* Not to allow Joab go down to the grave in __________________.

* Show _________________ to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite.

* To bring Shimei’s gray hair down to the ________________ with blood.

2. Read 1 Kings 2:13-46. What did Adonijah want from Bathsheba?

How did David respond to this request?

Benaiah struck him down __________________, and he died.

Solomon removed Abiathar from being _____________ to the Lord, that he might fulfill the word of the Lord which He spoke concerning the house of Eli at Shiloh.

Why did Joab flee to the tabernacle of the Lord?

Shimei was told that if he left the city he would be _____________________.

3. Read 1 Kings 3:1-3. Solomon made a treaty with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and married Pharaoh’s daughter. This opened up the door to compromise in his life. How do people compromise their obedience to God today?

4. Read Acts 5:1-11.What were the intentions of Ananias and Sapphira?

Ananias and Sapphira wanted man’s praise more than God’s so they lied. Do you know people that want man’s praise more than God’s praise?

What happened to Ananias and Sapphira because of their sin ?

5. Read Acts 5:12-16. The people brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches. Why?

Sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits were brought to the disciples, and they were _____________  healed.

6. Read Acts 5:17-42. Why were the apostles put in prison?

At night an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors and freed the apostles. What were they instructed to do?

Peter and the other apostles told the leaders…

* We ought to obey _____________  rather than men (you).

* You ______________________ Jesus by hanging Him on a tree but God raised Him up..
* God has exalted Jesus to His _____________ hand to be Prince and Savior.

* Jesus gives repentance to Israel and _________________________ of sins.
* God gives the Holy Spirit to those who _________________ Him.

The leaders were furious at what Peter said to them. What did they plot to do?

A Pharisee named Gamaliel, said, “…keep away from these men and let them alone. For if this plan or this work is of men, it will come to nothing. But if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it—lest you even be found to fight against God.” How does this apply to our lives today?

7. Read Proverbs 16:25. There is a way that seems ____________ to a man, but its end is the way of death.

Dear Father,

I place my trust in You and I will not be moved. Thank-you for surrounding me with Your presence. In Your presence there is peace. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to do good and to have an upright heart. Lead me away from iniquity and closer to You, O Lord.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
