2. Introduction – Clay Comes To Life
Once upon a time what was just ordinary clay or dirt became a living, breathing, and talking human being. God had just finished creating a beautiful world. He looked around and everything that He created was good. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. Let them rule over all creation.”
So God took some clay from the ground and formed man. Then He breathed into the man’s nose and the man became a living being. God named the man Adam.
Everything that was made was made by the spoken word of God, except man. God breathed a breath of life into man instead. Only man was created in the image and likeness of God.
After looking at all His creation God realized that there was not a suitable mate for Adam. God said, “It is not good for man to live alone.” God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam. While Adam was asleep God took a rib from him, then He made a woman from the rib that He had taken from Adam.
God allowed Adam to name the woman. The name that Adam choose was Eve.

6. God Creates Adam
After God made the earth, He scooped up dust from the ground and used it to form a man. God breathed life into the man and named Him Adam.
Genesis 2:7 NKJV “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.”
Then God made a garden where Adam could live. It was in a place called Eden. The garden had a river flowing through it and lots of beautiful flowers and trees.
Genesis 2:8-15 NKJV “The Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. And out of the ground the Lord God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush.
The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
After God created Adam, He gave to him dominion over all His creation and the garden of Eden as a home to tend it and keep it. In the center of the garden, God planted two special trees. One was the tree of life. The other was the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The only gave one restriction: that God gave Adam was that he must never eat from this tree. If he did, Adam would know what it meant to participate in evil, and the result would be banishment and death. The death that God was referring to was separation from Him.
Genesis 2:16-17 NKJV “And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

8. God Creates Eve
In the garden, God brought all the animals to Adam for him to name them. Adam was lonely because he was alone – there was not a companion for him.
Genesis 2:18-20 NKJV “And the Lord God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.”
God put Adam to sleep and made a woman from a rib from Adam. The woman was named Eve.
Genesis 2:21-22 NKJV “And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.”

11. Challenge and Altar Call- God Made You Unique
God created all people. He made everyone according to his own special plan. And all people are beautiful to God and He desires a relationship with each one of them.
The dictionary describes unique as being different from others in a way that makes you special and worthy of note. You are one of a kind and special. God made you unique and He has a very special plan for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
The plan that God has for you is not the same plan that He has for someone else. It is up to each one of us to walk the path that God has laid out before us. Not someone else’ path, but our path.
God’s plan for us is filled with hope. God’s plan for you is a good plan, not an evil plan. Before you were even born, God knew you and had a plan for you. God never makes mistakes and there are no accidents with God.
Each one of us was created to be like God in righteousness and holiness. Through Jesus we can truly be made new.
Give the children time to pray.
God’s first plan for you is for you to be made new through His Son, Jesus. Have you accepted this plan for your life?
Have you allowed Jesus to create in you a clean heart?
Are you growing in your relationship with God?
