BE WISE IN FRIENDSHIPS

Memory Verse: Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Life Application: Friends are valuable to you

Bible Text:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Proverbs 13:20

I Corinthians 15:33-34

Friends are an important part of your life and they are a gift from God. Each person needs to choose good friends because our friends have an effect on us. Friends that share the same faith in God make the best friends. When our friends live for God it is easier for us to live for Him too.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 NKJV

“Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, For he has no one to help him up.”

Friends are valuable to you. God wants you to have friends. We need friends to encourage us and to lift us up when we are down. God also wants you to remember that friends have a powerful influence on your life. The kinds of friends you choose will affect your values, attitudes, relationships with people, and the kind of person you become. The greatest influence on our lives is peer pressure.

Proverbs 13:20 NKJV

“He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.”

Our friends make impressions on us. In some ways we become like our friends. Be careful with who you hang around.

I Corinthians 15:33-34 NKJV

“Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame”
