1. Introduction
God created all people. He made everyone according to his own special plan. All people are beautiful to God and He desires a relationship with each one of them.
Each one of us was created to be like God in righteousness and holiness.
You are “Somebunny” special!

2. Memory Verse

John 3:16 NKJV
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”

* Activity – Sign Language for verse.

3. Man was created special.

Genesis 1:27
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him, male and female He created them.”
God had just finished creating a beautiful world. He looked around and everything that He created was good. Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. Let them rule over all creation.”

God took some clay from the ground and formed man. Then He breathed into the man’s nose and the man became a living being. God named the man Adam.
What was just ordinary clay or dirt, became a living, breathing, and talking human being.

Everything that was made was made by the spoken word of God, except man. God breathed a breath of life into man instead. Only man was created in the image and likeness of God.
After looking at all His creation God realized that there was not a suitable mate for Adam. God said, “It is not good for man to live alone.” God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam. While Adam was asleep God took a rib from him, then He made a woman from the rib that He had taken from Adam.

God allowed Adam to name the woman. The name that Adam chose was Eve.

Man enjoyed a very intimate (close) relationship with God. God would come down from heaven and walk with Adam and Eve in the evening.

4. Sin Causes Separation

Genesis 3:8 NKJV
“And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.”

Everything was perfect until sin entered into the picture. Because of the sin man could no longer enjoy the intimate relationship with God. God is a holy God and sin cannot come into His presence. Sin had separated man from God and it brought spiritual death into the world.

Isaiah 59:2
“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.”

* Activity – Hand out picture of man being separated from God. Have the children draw a picture of themselves in the box. Set aside after finished – we will use it again later.

5. New Life In Jesus
Everyone has sinned and that means that we have been separated from God and are spiritually dead. We must experience new life in Jesus if we want a relationship with God – we must be born again.

When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we become a new creation. We are restored, by Jesus, to what God had originally created us to be. Everything about our lives change, because we are transformed into the likeness of Christ.

2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

Just like a caterpillar changes into a butterfly, we too are changed when we accept Jesus as our Savior. God transforms a person from being a sinner who does not know God and who does wrong into a person who loves God and wants to do right.

Instead of doing and living the way we what to, we live to be like Jesus. Our desire is to please Him. Instead of looking at people, things and the world through our eyes we see everything through the eyes of Jesus. Everything about us becomes new!

7. God Loved Us So Much
God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to pay our penalty for our sins.
As Jesus hung on the cross, God laid on Him the sins of the whole world – all our sins were put on the sinless Son of God.
Through Jesus’ shed blood on the cross, we can be forgiven.

* Activity – Hand out paper crosses and have the children glue them on their papers.

8. Craft – Bunny Paper Bag Puppet

9. Born Into God’s Family
Each one of us must be born again (to have our sins forgiven). We must experience the new birth that we receive when we admit that we have sinned and ask Jesus to forgive us. When we experience new birth, we become part of the family of God – we are born into His family.

John 1:12 NKJV
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name.”

The first thing that we must do is admit that we have sinned against a holy God. Then we must be willing to turn from our sin and believe that only Jesus can forgive us of our sins. When we admit that we have sinned, believe that Jesus can forgive us of our sins and confess our sins to Him, God will forgive us and we will experience a new birth. We are not the same – we are changed by the power of God.

* Activity – Write a prayer to God.

* Pray with the children.

Through Jesus we can truly be made new.
