White As Snow

WHITE AS SNOW

Memory Verse: Isaiah 1:18

Life Application: My sins can be forgiven.

Bible Text:

Isaiah 1:18

John 14:6

1 John 1:8

Romans 3:23

James 4:17

Romans 3:23

John 3:16-17

Romans 5:8

1 Peter 2:24

Acts 16:31

1 John 1:9

Romans 10:9

Isaiah 1:18 NKJV

“ ‘Come now, and let us reason together,’ Says the Lord,

‘Though your sins are like scarlet,

They shall be as white as snow;

Though they are red like crimson,

They shall be as wool’ ”

God does not compromise with us concerning our sin and the seriousness of it. Because of His great love for us He is willing to forgive (pardon) us. Before we can be forgiven we must come to a realization that we have sinned against a holy God – that we have disregarded and broken His commandments. We must admit that we are at fault. God is waiting, willing and able to forgive us of our sins.

When we turn to Him in true repentance He will forgive us. The forgiveness that God offers us is made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There is no way to heaven but by Jesus. He is the only way – the way, the truth and the life.

John 14:6 NKJV

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

When Jesus willingly laid down His life on the cross it made salvation available to every person that had ever lived and every person that would live. All we have to do is repent of our sins. When we do we will experience the miracle of salvation. You can receive the miracle of salvation by:

Admitting that you have sinned against God.

1 John 1:8 NKJV

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Romans 3:23 NKJV

“ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

James 4:17 NKJV

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

Believing In Jesus Christ.

John 3:16-17 NKJV

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Romans 5:8 NKJV

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

Acts 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved”

Confessing your sins to God.

1 John 1:9 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”

Romans 10:9 NKJV

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, GO

On Your Mark, Get Set, Go!

Memory Verse: 2 Timothy 4:7

Life Application: We must run with endurance and finish our race.

Bible Text:

Hebrews 12:1

Romans 3:23

Acts 16:31

1 John 1:9

2 Peter 3:18

1 Peter 5:8

2 Timothy 3:16-17

1 Corinthians 5:26

Luke 9:62

Matthew 25:41

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

2 Timothy 4:7

Hebrews 12:1  NKJV     “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us”

Checked Flag –  prior to a race

A checked flag is used to signal that a driver has qualified for the race. The first step to running a race is to qualify for the race.

We must accept the free gift of salvation that God offers us through Jesus. By accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior it qualifies you for the race (journey) to Heaven.

A – Admit that you have sinned.

Romans 3:23     “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

B – Believe in Jesus.

Acts 16:31      “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved”

C – Confess your sins to God, then forsake (leave) your sins

1 John 1:9     “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins.”

Green Flag

A green flag is used to signal the start of a race. If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are ready to begin your race -your journey to heaven.

On this journey we need to:

1. Grow in the things of God.

2. Follow Jesus’ example of water baptism.

3. Seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 3:18  NKJV     “but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ….”

Grace: infinite love, mercy, favor, and goodwill shown to humankind by God , or shown to others by us.

Knowledge: all that can be known, all the information, facts, truths, and principles learned throughout time, learning through experience or study,  familiarity or understanding gained through experience or study.

.

Yellow Flag

A yellow flag is used to signal the drivers to use caution. In our race we must be cautious.

1 Peter 5:8  NKJV     “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.”

We must be careful, watchful and alert especially to guard against danger, difficulties, or errors.

White Flag

A white flag is used in a race to signal the drivers that there is a slick place on the road or track. While driving under a white flag a driver must be careful not to drive in such a way that he doesn’t run off the track or gets in a wreck.

2 Timothy 3:16-17  NKJV     “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

In our race we must be aware of the things that cause us to fall.

Red Flag

In a race a red flag is used when the race needs to be stopped for any reason. Sometimes it may be a wreck, bad weather, or unsafe road conditions.

Sometimes in our race, our journey to heaven, we need to stop and take care of some things that have arisen in our lives that down the road could disqualify us for heaven.

1 Corinthians 5:26  NKJV     “But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.”

There are times that we must discipline ourselves in areas that could cause us to fall away from God.

Black Flag

A black flag is used in a race to signal that a driver has been disqualified from the race.

Disqualified means: declare unfit, to make or declare somebody unfit, unqualified, or ineligible to do or take part in something.

Disqualified also means: take away legal right, to deprive somebody of a legal or other right or privilege.

Luke 9:62  NKJV     “But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.”

Matthew 25:41  NKJV     “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels”

We must run our race in such a way that we do not get disqualified.

Checked Flag –  during a race

A checked flag is used to signal the end of the race. It lets everyone know that someone has won the race.

Each one of us will come to the end of our life as we know it now one day.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17  NKJV     “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.”

When you die, if you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, your race will end in victory.

2 Timothy 4:7  NKJV     “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
