Genesis 2:2

As the Spirit of God hovered over the waters He said, “Let there be light.” God is very powerful and what He speaks always happens. At the command of His voice, light filled the world.

Genesis 1:3 NKJV

“Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.”

God called the light areas Day and the dark areas Night. This day became known as the first day of creation. “It is good,” thought God as He looked out over all the glorious light beaming across the sky.

The next day as God gazed at the waters He said, “Let there be a firmament to divide the waters. All the sudden part of the waters gathered into a liquid state and part of the waters turned into moisture in the atmosphere. Many today refer to this beautiful firmament as the sky or heavens. “It is good,” thought God as He looked at the blue sky.

Genesis 1:6 NKJV

“Then God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.”

The third day brought many lovely colors into the world. For on the third day God gathered the waters into one place and called them Seas. After that God made land appear above the surface of the seas. “It is good,” thought God as He looked at the land on which He had placed many, many colorful trees and plants.

Genesis 1:11 NKJV

“Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so.”

On the fourth day God placed twinkling stars in the sky. As God thought about His new creation His mind was thinking about what to make that could rule the day and night. A large light was created to rule the day. We call this large light the sun. After that God created something that could rule the night by reflecting light. We know this reflecting light as the moon. The moon emits no light of its own. It only reflects light from the sun.

Genesis 1:16 NKJV

“Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also.”

God said, “Let there be an abundance of living creatures in the sea, and let birds to fly in sky,“ on fifth day. And it was so. As God looked at His new creation it was good and He blessed it. At that instant all the animals in the world appeared in response to the voice of God.

Genesis 1: 20 NKJV

“Then God said, “Let the waters abound with an abundance of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the face of the firmament of the heavens.”

On the sixth day God made all the animals.

Genesis 1:24 NKJV

“Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so.”

God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit looked at all creation on the sixth day. “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness. Let them rule over all creation,” said God. So man was created in the very image and likeness of God.

Genesis 1:27 NKJV

“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

For six days God had worked creating the heavens and the earth, and every thing in them. On the seventh day God ended His work and He rested. Then God blessed the seventh day because it was the day the He rested from all His work.

Genesis 2:2 NKJV

“And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.”
