Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Saving Light – Eighth Night

8

The ultimate goal and purpose of creation was that the divine light would shine throughout the world, transforming everything, even darkness itself

Genesis 1:1-4  NKJV

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.”

.

.

Genesis 1:16-18  NKJV

“Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.”

.

.

God has always divided the light from the dark. Just as the natural light was separated from the dark, one day  God will separate the spiritual light from the spiritual dark.

Matthew 25:31-34  NKJV

“When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the holy angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory. All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats. And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.”

.

.

It is God’s desire for everyone inherit the kingdom that He has prepared for man. He even gave His own Son as the sacrifice for our sin. Some will accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and some will not.

Romans 5:8  NKJV

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”

.

.

2 Corinthians 2:4  NKJV

“For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.”

.

.

Dear Father,

Thank-you for the divine light that shines throughout the world. By the power of the Holy Spirit, transform me into a child of light. Thank-you for demonstrating Your love toward me and for Jesus’ sacrifice for my sin. Forgive me and cleanse me from all unrighteousness.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

White As Snow

WHITE AS SNOW

Memory Verse: Isaiah 1:18

Life Application: My sins can be forgiven.

Bible Text:

Isaiah 1:18

John 14:6

1 John 1:8

Romans 3:23

James 4:17

Romans 3:23

John 3:16-17

Romans 5:8

1 Peter 2:24

Acts 16:31

1 John 1:9

Romans 10:9

Isaiah 1:18 NKJV

“ ‘Come now, and let us reason together,’ Says the Lord,

‘Though your sins are like scarlet,

They shall be as white as snow;

Though they are red like crimson,

They shall be as wool’ ”

God does not compromise with us concerning our sin and the seriousness of it. Because of His great love for us He is willing to forgive (pardon) us. Before we can be forgiven we must come to a realization that we have sinned against a holy God – that we have disregarded and broken His commandments. We must admit that we are at fault. God is waiting, willing and able to forgive us of our sins.

When we turn to Him in true repentance He will forgive us. The forgiveness that God offers us is made possible by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. There is no way to heaven but by Jesus. He is the only way – the way, the truth and the life.

John 14:6 NKJV

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

When Jesus willingly laid down His life on the cross it made salvation available to every person that had ever lived and every person that would live. All we have to do is repent of our sins. When we do we will experience the miracle of salvation. You can receive the miracle of salvation by:

Admitting that you have sinned against God.

1 John 1:8 NKJV

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”

Romans 3:23 NKJV

“ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

James 4:17 NKJV

“Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.”

Believing In Jesus Christ.

John 3:16-17 NKJV

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”

Romans 5:8 NKJV

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

1 Peter 2:24 NKJV

“who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”

Acts 16:31

“Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved”

Confessing your sins to God.

1 John 1:9 NKJV

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.”

Romans 10:9 NKJV

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Lifestyle

lifestyle   Memory Verse: Luke 3:8

Life Application: I am to bear fruits of repentance.

Bible Text

Luke 3:8

Ephesians 5:1-13

Luke 3:3

Joshua 24:14-15

Romans 3:23

Romans 5:8

Romans 6:23

Luke 3:8 NKJV

“Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance…”

Your lifestyle will tell (show) if you have a personal relationship with God and Jesus or not. If you do not have a personal relationship with Jesus you are not saved and you will spend an eternity in the lake of fire. The choices YOU make while YOU are alive determine where You will spend eternity.

Lifestyle : manner of living: the way of life characteristic of a particular person, group, or culture.

Manner: way something is done, way in which somebody behaves , social behavior, customs and practices

These are not fruits of repentance and according to Ephesians 5:1-13, it is not fitting for children of God to participate in:…

profane language (profanity) or behavior.

cussing

vulgar talk rude or obscene, particularly with regard to sex or bodily functions and behavior

language or behavior that shows disrespect for God

profane word or phrase that shows disrespect for God

coarse joking or jesting

Ephesians 5:1-13 NKJV
“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma. But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks. For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.”

A few fruits of repentance are: love, goodness, righteousness, and truth. Children of God must strive to do what is acceptable in the Lord’s sight, not what is acceptable to society. Remember, what is right in God’s eyes is not always popular, and what is popular is not always right in God’s sight.

Luke 3:3 NKJV

“And he went into all the region around the Jordan, preaching a baptism of repentance for the remission of sins”

After accepting Jesus as your Savior (remission of sins / salvation) , you must make Him the Lord of your life. Part of making Jesus your Lord is following Him. We must walk as children of light. We must choose each and every day if we are going to truly serve Him or not.

Joshua 24:14-15 NKJV

““Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

People that participate in the following do not have an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God:

Fornication – sex between two people who are not married to each other.

Filthiness – morally objectionable (according to God’s standards) or obscene.

Cussing

Uncleanness – sexual immorality / vulgar.

Foolish talking – a lack of good sense or judgment, seeming ridiculous, unimportant.

Covetousness – greed.

coarse jesting – vulgar or obscene joking.

Vulgarity – crude or obscene, particularly with regard to sex or bodily functions

Idolatry – putting things or people before God / not worshipping the true God.

Sin is disobeying God in any way and it separates man from God. Everyone has sinned and needs the forgiveness that is offered to us through Jesus.

Romans 3:23 NKJV

“ for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God”

Romans 5:8 NKJV

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Romans 6:23 NKJV

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
