Prayer Supplement To Arrows Bible Study “God’s Word In Our Heart”

STUDY 12Praying God’s Word

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”

Write a prayer to God using the following verses, or parts of them.

Psalm 119:11 NKJV

“Your word I have hidden in my heart,

That I might not sin against You.”

Psalm 119:105 NKJV

“Your word is a lamp to my feet

And a light to my path.”

Proverbs 6:23 NKJV

“For the commandment is a lamp,

And the law a light;

Reproofs of instruction are the way of life”

Ephesians 5:8-14 NKJV

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of the light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things that are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light. Therefore He says: ‘Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.’ ”

1 John 1:5 – 7 NKJV

“This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.”

Ephesians 5:8 NKJV

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light”

Matthew 5:14-16 NKJV

“You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”

EXAMPLE:

.

Dear Father,

I thank-you for Your Word. May I always hide it in my heart that I may not sin against You. It is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. It’s reproofs of instruction are the way of life for me. I was once in darkness, but now Your light shines all around me. By the power of the Holy Spirit may I walk as a child of the light and discern what is acceptable to You, O Lord. Keep me from fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness. Cause my fellowship with You to grow and help me to practice the truth. May the light that You have placed within me light so shine before men that it glorifies you.

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind”

Psalm 17:4 NKJV

“Concerning the works of men, By the word of Your lips, I have kept away from the paths of the destroyer.”

Colossians 2:15 NKJV

“Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

Luke 10:17-20 NKJV

“ Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Exodus 20:4 NKJV

“…For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God…”

Psalms 37:23 NKJV

“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.”

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NKJV

“Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Romans 8:9-11 NKJV

“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

II Corinthians 6:14-16 NKJV

“Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”

I do rejoice in knowing that my name is written in heaven. My every step is ordered by You and You delight in my way.

My body is the temple of Your Holy Spirit. By His power may I glorify You in my body and in my spirit. I belong to You. You are my God. May I not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. You are a jealous God and I want only You. Don’t allow me to be comfortable with lawlessness.

Prayer Supplement To Arrows Bible Study “Josiah Humbles Himself”

STUDY 12   Praying God’s Word

Hebrews 4:12 NKJV

“For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart”

Write a prayer to God using the following verses, or parts of them.

2 Chronicles 33:12-13 NKJV

“Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.”

2 Chronicles 34:1-7 NKJV

“Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem.
And he did what was right in the sight of the Lord, and walked in the ways of his father David; he did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek the God of his father David; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem of the high places, the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images. They broke down the altars of the Baals in his presence, and the incense altars which were above them he cut down; and the wooden images, the carved images, and the molded images he broke in pieces, and made dust of them and scattered it on the graves of those who had sacrificed to them. He also burned the bones of the priests on their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem. And so he did in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, and Simeon, as far as Naphtali and all around, with axes. When he had broken down the altars and the wooden images, had beaten the carved images into powder, and cut down all the incense altars throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem.”

2 Chronicles 34:27 NKJV

“because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God when you heard His words against this place and against its inhabitants, and you humbled yourself before Me, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the Lord.”

2 Chronicles 34:31-33 NKJV

‘Then the king stood in his place and made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord, and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant that were written in this book. And he made all who were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin take a stand. So the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. Thus Josiah removed all the abominations from all the country that belonged to the children of Israel, and made all who were present in Israel diligently serve the Lord their God. All his days they did not depart from following the Lord God of their fathers.”

Dear Father,

.

.

.

.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Example:

.

Dear Father,

Thank-you for Your Word and its many promises. In my affliction, when I humble myself, I know that You will hear me and answer my cry. By the power of the Holy Spirit, help me to do what is right in Your sight and to walk in Your ways. Break down every altar or idol that has been set up in my life. May my heart be tender toward You and may I humble myself before You. Fill me with a greater desire for Your Word and may I act upon what Your Word says.
